Open Days amaze attendees with degrees of discovery
Aspiring students and their families had the opportunity to explore their academic opportunities, discover a diverse range of degrees and receive expert advice on study options at CQUniversity’s recent Open Day events.
Throughout the month of August, CQUniversity hosted six in-person Open Days across the University’s campus footprint in Bundaberg, Gladstone, Townville, Cairns, Rockhampton and Mackay.
More than 1000 people attended campus events where they were introduced to the University and enjoyed campus tours, live music, games, market stalls, giveaways, photobooths and food.
For those unable to attend a campus event, prospective students will have the opportunity to connect online with CQU staff at a Virtual Open Day tomorrow (Thursday, 31 August) with an additional 400 people expected to log on to the virtual webinars and course information sessions.
CQUniversity Marketing Coordinator, Karlie Williams said this year’s great attendance was a testament to the University’s flexible study options and supportive learning environment.
“Prospective students received a comprehensive glimpse into the array of educational pathways available, highlighting both the traditional campus experience and the modern flexibility of online learning,” she said.
“We are committed to ensuring opportunities are available for all Queenslanders, regardless of where they are located.
“CQU has over 250 TAFE and university course options which can be studied on campus or online from anywhere in the world.”
Some of the most popular sessions and course interests were Nursing, Teaching, Physiotherapy, Engineering and Sonography.
Attendees were particularly engaged with the innovative hands-on demonstrations and interactions with faculty members that showcased the practical aspects of the courses.
