Library Locations and Opening Hours

Level 1

You will need your student ID card to visit the campus outside business hours. To assist Security, please leave the building 15 minutes before closing time.

Note: The Library Desk will be unstaffed at some stage over the lunch period each day. Contact us via the video kiosk or by phone or email during this time.

Building 3
6 University Drive, Branyan QLD 4670

You will need an access card to enter the Bundaberg library before 8.30 am & after 5.00 pm as well for weekends and public holidays. Access cards are issued on presentation of a current CQUniversity student card at Campus Reception, building 1 between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. If you have trouble with campus access, please phone Security on 0418 792 982.

The library is unstaffed until further notice. Please contact us via video kiosk or by phone or email for library and technology help.

Level 3
Corner Abbott Street and Shields Street, Cairns QLD 4870

The library is open 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, and can be accessed with a swipe card until 8.00 pm, Monday to Friday. It is also accessible on weekends and most public holidays with a swipe card during the below hours.

Swipe cards can be obtained from Reception on Level 3 between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Building 1 CQUniversity Emerald
Capricorn Highway, Emerald QLD 4720

Access via swipe card outside the hours of 6.45am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, and on public holidays. Swipe cards can be obtained from Campus Reception between 8.00am and 4.00pm.

Cyril Golding Library, Building 7
613 Bryan Jordan Drive, Gladstone QLD 4680

You will need a swipe card to enter the library outside our staffed hours and on public holidays. To obtain an access swipe card, please bring your current CQUniversity student card to the library desk during our staffed hours. If the library is unstaffed, access cards can be obtained from the front desk in the Leo Zussino Building (Building 3) between 8.30 am and 4.45 pm, Monday to Friday. If you have trouble with library access, please phone Security on 0418 792 982.

Ground Floor, Building 3

You will need an access swipe card to enter the library (via Room G.22 - After-hours Study Lab) outside service hours. Please ensure you leave the building before the alarms are automatically activated at 10.00 pm. You can obtain an access swipe card from Reception in Building 1 between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. It can take 24-48 hours before your card is activated. If you have trouble with campus access, please phone Security on 0418 792 982.

Level 1, Building 19

You will need a swipe card to enter the library outside staffed hours. Swipe cards are issued at Ooralea Reception between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Access may take up to 48 hours to activate. If you have trouble with campus access, please phone Security on 0418 792 982.

IT and library help is available 7.30am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday by calling TaSAC (1300 666 620) or by using the library help phone.

The library will be unstaffed and accessible for the following dates:

• Friday 15 May
• Friday 29 May

Level 2

The library desk will be unstaffed up to (and including) Monday 27 April. Please contact us via video kiosk or by phone or email for library and technology help.

The campus, including the library, will be closed on Saturday 25 April for the Anzac Day public holiday.

Building A

Current students and staff can access a computer room in B block room 1.75 after the library closes until 9pm weekdays, via an after-hours access card. To obtain an after-hours access card please see Library staff during staffed hours. It may take 24-48 hours before your card is activated. If you have trouble accessing B block room 1.75 with your card, please call Security on 0418 792 982.

You will need an after-hours access card to enter the library outside of staffed hours. 

PLEASE NOTE: All levels are now accessible during afterhours access 7 days, 5:00am to midnight.

To obtain an after-hours access card please see Library staff during staffed hours. It may take 24-48 hours before your card is activated. Only students and staff are eligible for an after-hours access card. If you have trouble accessing the library with your card please call Security on 0418 792 982.

NOTE: The library will be UNSTAFFED on the public holiday Monday 4 May 2026.

An afterhours access card is needed to enter the library during unstaffed times.  

Level 3
