Study Tours

Study tours are short-term programs that combine English language lessons with sightseeing and educational excursions.

CQUEnglish can organise study tours in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney any time throughout the year. We have extensive experience in organising study tours for professional groups, government ministries, senior high school and university students. We can customise a study tour to suit your subject area or group, such as English for nursing students or teaching English as a foreign language.

Study tour programs are not accredited or CRICOS registered programs and are not available as a principle course for student visa holders.

For university students

These study tours are designed to combine English language study with academic studies and cultural activities. The English language content can be either General English (GE) or English for specific purposes e.g. nursing, depending on the specific interests of your group. This is an ideal opportunity to experience life at an Australian university, visit study-related organisations, participate in a range of cultural activities in the local area and take part in academic activities.

For high school students

These study tours combine an English course specially designed to suit the level and interest of high school students, with a fully inclusive and varied program of excursions and activities.

For special interest groups

These study tours are for business, sporting, hobby or other special interest groups, and are designed to provide opportunities to learn English and pursue particular interests with an Australian flavour. For example, practise your English speaking skills as you visit places of natural beauty such as wetlands, beautiful coastal areas, national parks and the outback.

  • Specialised classes in business English, pronunciation and writing
  • Lectures by business professionals or university academics
  • Tourist and leisure activities
  • Student progress reports and certificate of completion
  • Dedicated study tour coordinator
  • 24-hour emergency contact
  • Homestay accommodation with friendly, caring families

Homestay accommodation is organised through the University's preferred provider: Australian Homestay Network (AHN). This is the ideal introduction to the Australian way of life as hosts are trained in assisting students with everyday activities including being shown around the community, help with the basics of Australian culture and personal safety tips.

The cost of a study tour will depend on the schedule and activities included.
