We are seeking 2024's most valuable players (MVPs). Whether you're an aspiring sport scientist, psychologist, physiotherapist, a rising sporting star, or simply passionate about biology, this program is designed for you!

8.40 am – 1.00 pm, hosted by CQU Lecturers, in conjunction with the Cairns Taipans!
Highlights
- Exercise and Sport Science Workshops: explore injury prevention, recovery strategies, performance optimisation, and strength and conditioning. Learn how to gain a competitive edge using methods like wearable technology, player load management and testing protocols. Led by lecturer Rogan Bartlett, who is also a Strength and Conditioning coach for the Cairns Taipans.
- CQU Exercise and Sport Science Lab Tour: experience cutting-edge technology, including the metabolic cart which measures VO2 max, a cycle ergometer for anaerobic power testing, and electric timing gates that assess speed and agility.
- Taipans Training Session: gain exclusive access to a training session and explore performance data insights with Catapult technology.
- Physiotherapy Presentation: Cairns-based Physiotherapy Lecturer, Michael Wilkinson, will provide an overview of physiotherapy, covering course details for those entering the field straight out of school.
- Psychology Presentation: Senior Lecturer Alberto Goncalves will discuss the psychology program at CQU and share his experience as a sport psychologist.
- Taipans Home Game: Friday 29 November, Cairns Taipans vs Sydney Kings (two lucky participants will win tickets to the game)
