Electrotechnology covers all aspects of electrical, electronic, instrumentation and communication technologies. It incorporates traditional light and power, hardware platforms and networking automation, virtual enterprise, the internet and fibre optics.

The VETiS Electrotechnology Competition tests competitors' skills and knowledge used in the Electrotechnology Industries not limited to workplace health and safety,  maintenance, installation and repair. Jason De Roche is hosting one event, register for your chosen event by visiting WorldSkills.

The competition tests the skills and knowledge used in the Electrotechnology industries, not limited to workplace health and safety, identifying electrotechnology components, use of hand tools and electrotechnology apparatuses.

To be eligible to enter a WorldSkills competition, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship in an Australian RTO/TAFE/University
  • Be undertaking studies towards a qualification at an Australian RTO/TAFE or University
  • Undertaken/completed a relevant qualification at an Australian RTO/TAFE or University

There is no age criteria to enter the Regionals, however, to be eligible to proceed to the National Championships, the National Age Ruling will apply.

A competitor at the WorldSkills Australia National Championships should not be older than 24 years in the year of competition (For 2027 – Born on or after 1 Jan 2003). For more information on eligibility, visit WorldSkills.
