Be part of a CQUniversity-led citizen science project alongside Reef Catchments, CMERC, OzFish, and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF). This collaborative effort invites community volunteers to collect seagrass flowers at Cannonvale Beach for vital restoration works in Pioneer Bay.

What do I need to bring
All you need is a wide-brim hat, long-sleeved shirt and pants, wetsuit boots or old sneakers, sunscreen, a water bottle and your enthusiasm to help our marine ecosystems!
What to expect
- Work in intertidal areas (you may get wet or muddy!). You will walk directly out onto the seagrass meadow
- Learn about seagrass restoration techniques with information provided by the team
- Collaborate with passionate volunteers and scientist
- Gain insight into the importance of seagrass for the reef
