Working as a sales officer at Crowne Plaza Nepal sparked Asmika’s interest in exploring the world. Building on her bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, she pursued postgraduate study to expand her career opportunities.
After graduating, Asmika joined Quest Serviced Apartments in Hobart as a guest services associate. She was quickly promoted—first to hotel supervisor in early 2019, then hotel assistant manager seven months later. In this role, she managed supplier coordination, corporate partnerships, staff training, budgeting, and operational planning, applying her growing expertise in management and accounting.
Asmika now works full-time as a Retail Manager at the Australian Red Cross, and holds additional roles as a bi-cultural worker with the Migrant Resource Center and a Nepali-English interpreter across health, legal and education settings.
She is also an active volunteer: National Coordination Council Women Forum Member of NRNA Australia (2025–2027), former State Women Forum Member (Tasmania, 2023–2025), Migration Support and Emergency Services volunteer and team leader with Australian Red Cross, Pillowcase Program presenter, and Committee Member of AUSIT (Tas branch).
