Stacey Chamberlain
Stacey Chamberlain is a passionate mentor and advocate for Indigenous kids pursuing their educational goals. Stacey is a proud Indigenous woman and her heritage is the Bundjalung and Gumbaynggirr people. A long-time mentor in both professional and volunteer roles, Stacey is the Program Manager for CQUniversity's AIME program in Rockhampton, inspiring and encouraging Indigenous kids to dream big and live those dreams.
Graduating in 2004 as the first in her family to attend University, Stacey persevered with her studies for ten years, balancing family, work and life commitments to obtain her degree. The biggest challenge that she faced was learning to self-manage her time, and she quickly learned that if she organised herself her grades improved.
Stacey's advice for students is to not study in isolation and to have someone who supports you - whether it be a family member, partner, group of friends or social media – as it's much easier to learn if you're interacting with other people.
