Wayne is a successful theatre, film and television actor, writer and director. He is a champion of the Australian film and performance industry.

Originally graduating with a Bachelor of Business in 1994; Wayne was conferred an Honorary Doctor of the Arts by CQUniversity in 2013.

Wayne has most recently directed ‘Top End Wedding' starring Miranda Tapsell, which Premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

In 2012 he directed ‘The Sapphires', which premiered at Cannes and was the highest-grossing Australian film of the year. It won 11 AACTA awards, including Best Film and Best Director. He has also written and directed many short films and television episodes, as well as acting for stage and screen.

He directed the hit series Love Child (Series 6) and Bite Club (Series 1) and worked as an actor on Mystery Road. Wayne also featured as a lead actor on the Logie award-winning show Redfern Now.

Wayne directed the remake of Dirty Dancing for Lionsgate in the US and the first and second season of the highly successful Clever Man.

His skills behind and in front of the camera and on stage have seen him receive critical and popular acclaim for his projects and win numerous awards in his field. Not only a high achiever and a passionate communicator in his own right, Wayne is also an enthusiastic mentor and supporter of future creators.
