Chris has always loved computers and how everything connects and works in them. He decided to study at CQUniversity and complete a Diploma of Information and Communications Technology.
After completing his diploma, Chris started out by working in a very low-level vacation program at Glencore. He was then able to move up to a helpdesk role with See Civil, and within a month, he was offered a graduate role at Glencore. Chris is certain that obtaining a graduate position at Glencore would have been impossible without his qualification, and his studies with CQU have already opened many doors for him.
Currently working as a graduate IT systems engineer, Chris rotates through various mine sites with roughly 600 users on each site. On site, he provides level three support to users and is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting for industrial devices like servers and switches.
