Steph Pasco
Steph originally wanted to become a doctor but fell into engineering because she undertook a trade as a fitter and turner working at her local power station. It was a great experience, and she was inspired to study Leadership and Engineering as she wanted to understand what the engineers were doing at work and how they undertook project management.
After over a decade working in the power station industry, Steph still had the desire to become a doctor and knew it was the time to take a step towards this dream. Now based in Rockhampton, it was an easy choice for Steph to begin the next phase of her career by enrolling to studying a Bachelor of Medical Science with CQUni.
As a proud Dyirbal woman, Ms Pasco said her Indigenous heritage has also played a large role in motivating her studies. Steph feels it can be extremely challenging at times in any industry, particularly in a male-dominated one, however she has ensured her work ethic and professionalism speak for itself.
