After graduating with Bachelor (Hons) and then Masters level Engineering qualifications from the Imperial College, University of London, John travelled to Australia and commenced a 40 year engineering career which saw him contribute to major projects in Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Lesotho.
After working on the Ord River and Shoalhaven projects in Australia, John moved his focus north, spending several years working in senior positions for the site supervision during construction on the Trengganu Hydroelectric Project (Malaysia), Yonki Hydroelectric Project (PNG), and the Pergau Hydroelectric Project (Malaysia), and Mohale Dam and associated works (Lesotho).After returning to Australia in 2001, John continued to contribute to a large number of projects through leadership roles with the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation and GHD Pty Ltd. He retired in 2009.
