Pamela Herlihen was admitted to the Supreme Court as a lawyer in 2017 and is currently an Indigenous Student Engagement Officer at CQUniversity.

While studying, the First Nations mum of five children worked as a Client Services Coordinator in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service (ATSILS) Townsville office. She then completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the College of Law before seeking admission as a solicitor through the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Pamela's advice to law students and new graduates is to take every opportunity to connect to their local community justice groups, law associations and the legal fraternity.

Pamela says she has many mentors in her family and life whom she admires and draws inspiration from and says her success has been underpinned by mentors at every stage.

My mentor and tutor (and fellow CQUni alumnus) Sharon Dekkers kept me grounded and guided throughout my degree, while CQUni's Office of Indigenous Education assisted me with all my study needs.
