Swapnil Gadgil

Swapnil Gadgil is a healthcare and technology entrepreneur whose career has focused on using digital innovation and business leadership to improve access to specialist healthcare support.

A CQUniversity Master of Information Systems graduate, Swapnil is best known as the co-founder of Therapy Box Ltd, a multi-award-winning technology company established in 2009 with speech therapist Rebecca Bright MBE. Therapy Box was created to make communication easier for people requiring assistance due to physical or cognitive conditions, with its first product, Predictable, developed to support people needing text-based communication aids.

Under Swapnil’s leadership, Therapy Box grew into an internationally recognised health technology company, releasing more than 30 specialist apps for healthcare, education and non-government organisations. Its clients and collaborators have included UNICEF, the United Nations Development Program, Jisc, the National Health Service in the United Kingdom and multiple universities. The company also partnered with academics and clinicians on research projects related to speech, language and cognition, including work using speech and language biomarkers to support healthcare assessment and diagnosis.

Therapy Box received significant industry recognition, including the United Kingdom’s Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation in 2014 and again in 2019. The company’s flagship app, Predictable, has supported tens of thousands of people with speech difficulties and has been released across multiple territories.

Swapnil has recently exited the technology business following its acquisition by a United States company, marking a major milestone in his entrepreneurial journey.

He has since expanded his focus into private healthcare services and now serves as Chief Executive Officer of Harley Street Physiotherapy in London. In this role, he is leading the growth of a long-established private physiotherapy provider, with a focus on exceptional patient care, service expansion, team development and growing the brand across additional sites. Swapnil has also acquired a number of physiotherapy clinics, continuing his commitment to building healthcare businesses that improve access to specialist services.

Across his career, Swapnil’s work has combined technology, healthcare, commercial strategy and service innovation. His CQUniversity Master of Information Systems helped provide the digital and systems-thinking foundation that supported his move into health technology entrepreneurship and continues to inform his leadership across healthcare and business.
