Siavash Bakhshi

Starting out with a background in Agricultural Engineering and self-taught IT experience, I chose CQUniversity’s Graduate Diploma of Information Technology in Melbourne to formalize my technical skills and gain an international perspective. CQU helped bridge the gap between hands-on network administration and enterprise strategy, teaching me to view technology through the lens of business objectives, people, and processes—a mindset that became invaluable when I relocated to Canada.

In 2015, I founded Apprand Web Inc., a Canadian technology company providing web applications, system integration, e-commerce, and automation. Alongside my business, I serve as Head of IT & Business Systems at Mekco Supply Inc. A major career highlight has been transforming Mekco’s IT function into a core driver of business strategy by connecting sales, inventory, accounting, and warehouse operations while reducing manual work through automation and single-source-of-truth integrations.

My current work focuses heavily on enterprise digital transformation, AI adoption, and AI governance, ensuring emerging technologies are implemented responsibly and practically. Passionate about mentoring early-career professionals, I draw on my journey as an international student, immigrant, and entrepreneur to demonstrate how technical foundations can evolve into dynamic careers in leadership, operations, and business transformation.
