Before studying at CQUniversity, I was deeply passionate about addressing urban transportation challenges in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, particularly regarding public transport accessibility. I chose CQU for my Master of Business (Research) because it provided the ideal platform to conduct independent, industry-relevant research. My mixed-methods thesis produced a practical accessibility model whose findings remain widely downloaded today, mirroring and supporting ongoing transport infrastructure improvements across developing cities.

Since graduating, I have translated my research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills into a successful career within Australia's construction and infrastructure industry. As a trusted commercial and contracts professional, my expertise spans contract administration, commercial strategy, subcontract negotiations, delay analysis, variations, claims, and risk management. My current work centres on interpreting complex contract law, managing key stakeholder relationships, protecting commercial interests, and delivering complex construction projects on time and budget.

A major highlight of my career has been consistently leading successful contract deliveries, handovers, and high-stakes commercial negotiations that secure equitable outcomes while mitigating risk. Beyond my professional achievements, I am deeply committed to community support and leadership. I am a founding member and Secretary of the Burka Gibe Self Help Association Incorporated in Melbourne—a community organization established in 2022 that actively supports 45 Oromo families through all of life's milestones.
