Jerome Rivory

Jerome chose CQUniversity to complete a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) as a mature student, drawn to the University's practical approach to engineering education.

After graduating, he began his career as a Project Engineer in a consulting firm. His engineering degree became the foundation for a career spanning 40 years across engineering, project delivery, management, business development and strategic advisory work.

Jerome continued to build his professional capability through further study, completing a Master of Engineering Science and an MBA. Over time, he progressed into management, engineering sales and senior business development roles, working across Australia and internationally.

His career has included roles and projects in Australia, France, the United Kingdom and Finland. One of his career highlights was completing a major project in the United Kingdom as Projects Director for a French company. He is also proud of building successful teams and securing major projects, including work connected to Western Sydney Airport.

Prior to retiring from full-time work in 2021, Jerome was Vice President, Business Development for the Environment and Geoscience business unit at SNC-Lavalin, a global engineering and construction company. In this role, he was responsible for the Environment and Geoscience business unit across Asia Pacific.

Jerome is now retired from full-time employment but continues to contribute his expertise as a sole trader, providing strategic advice to a number of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Reflecting on his career, Jerome credits his CQUniversity engineering degree as the prime basis for his professional journey.
