Before studying at CQUniversity, I completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and gained experience across engineering design, fabrication, manufacturing, production, QA, supply chain management, digital transformation, Strategic sourcing, and procurement.

As my career progressed, my responsibilities expanded to include project management, procurement, commercial decision-making, and stakeholder engagement. These experiences highlighted the value of combining technical expertise with a deeper understanding of management, strategy, operations, finance and contracts.

I chose CQUniversity’s Master of Engineering Management to build on my engineering background and develop broader leadership and business capabilities. The degree strengthened my approach to project management, strategic thinking and commercial decision-making, while developing my understanding of contract law. It helped prepare me for broader responsibilities in project delivery, procurement, consulting and management.

Since graduating, I have worked across engineering, mining, energy, manufacturing and consulting. My experience includes strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, cost optimisation and business continuity in complex industrial and operational environments.

Today, through Chaim Consulting, I support organisations with engineering project management, strategic sourcing and procurement, commercial and contract support, manufacturing solutions and technology-enabled business improvement. This work brings together technical knowledge, commercial judgement and collaboration with stakeholders in Australia and internationally.

A career highlight has been contributing to strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives in mining and energy, including work supporting Rio Tinto mine sites and my role as a Category Specialist with Macquarie Generation. Through these roles, I helped strengthen supplier arrangements, achieve cost savings and improve commercial outcomes.

Another significant milestone has been achieving chartered recognition in Mechanical Engineering and project management through Engineers Australia. This reflects my commitment to professional standards and continued development across engineering and project management.

Alongside my professional work, I am passionate about mentoring, engineering education and supporting emerging professionals. As a CQUniversity alumnus and mentor, I share practical experience in project management, procurement, leadership, negotiation and career development.

My community involvement also includes volunteering, faith-based service and outreach. These activities provide opportunities to share my skills and experience, support others and contribute beyond my professional roles.
