David (Ji) Chen

After completing his studies in Information Systems, David began his career in Australia at DoubleClick as a Technical Account Manager in 2004. Following Google's acquisition of DoubleClick, he took on Team Lead and management roles and was appointed Country Manager, Media and Platform Solutions for Greater China in 2009.

During his time at Google, David played a key role in commercialising DoubleClick's advertising technology in China, including the launch of China's first real-time ad exchange. He also launched and scaled new businesses and products, and grew the team by 350%. In recognition of his leadership and management capability, he received Google's Great Manager Award in 2009.

In 2014, David joined VivaKi, the digital and ad-tech arm of Publicis Groupe, as Managing Director for China. He led the transformation of the China business, overseeing the development and launch of new products, technology platforms and strategic partnerships, while working with major brands and agencies across the market.

In 2017, David moved into entrepreneurship as CEO of MaxBit. He led the company through a strategic transformation from a digital media business into an Ad-Tech and SaaS platform, rebuilding its business model, products and organisational structure and expanding into data analytics and e-commerce. Over more than 20 years, David has held senior leadership roles spanning technology, marketing, digital transformation and general management across Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region. His work has been recognised internationally, including being named one of the 100 Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders in 2015.
