Dewan Ahmed

After graduating with a Master of Professional Accounting from CQUniversity Melbourne in 2018, I began my career in Melbourne, gaining hands-on experience across accounting and finance roles in hospitality and corporate environments. I later moved into the agriculture and fruit production sector, where my roles progressed from Accountant to Finance Manager, and since September 2023, Chief Financial Officer at Prima Fresh Pty Ltd.

Before commencing my postgraduate studies, I completed a Bachelor of Business Administration and worked with a Fortune 500 company. I decided to further my studies to strengthen my technical accounting skills and gain an Australian-recognised qualification to support long-term career growth. I chose CQUniversity for its practical, industry-focused accounting program and the flexibility to balance work and study.

In my current role as CFO, I oversee financial governance, budgeting, cash-flow management and statutory compliance, while working closely with senior leadership on strategic planning, capital investment decisions and improving operational efficiency. My degree provided a strong technical foundation and the confidence to progress into senior financial leadership roles.
