I originally studied nearly 20 years ago, and since then I’ve been involved in research work. Unfortunately, research funding was becoming an issue, so I decided to return to university to up-skill and move into laboratory work.
I am now undertaking a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (Honours), so I can get accreditation through the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists, which is essential for career progression in laboratory science.
While studying I am working in hospitality. It is just a part-time job while I complete the rest of my studies, though it is a good place to work with friendly people.
