I came to Australia in 1990 from Germany on a holiday after I had completed a 4-year diploma in nursing in Germany. I immediately fell in love with Queensland, migrating in 1994. I spent 27 years living and working in Victoria, but part of me always longed to return to live and study in Queensland. This dream was made a reality by joining CQU. I no longer work as an R.N. DIV 1 due to the fact that such long years of practical experience on the job takes a real toll on your body.
Since graduating from CQU in 2023, I have gradually transferred my working life from being a non-practicing registered nurse DIV 1 (Bachelor of Nursing, 1998, Monash University) to a qualified community pharmacy dispensary technician (Cert IV, 2020, Pharmacy Guild) and a community pharmacy assistant (Cert III, 2018, Chisholm College). I now work as a medical receptionist-administrator (Cert III 2023, CQU), while I am completing a part-time Cert IV in Accounts Administration and Bookkeeping at CQU.
In my current job, useful traits including being warm-hearted & quick-witted with computers and bringing 'calm to the farm' (i.e., being level-headed and radiating calm into your team and the workplace generally), as well as keeping an open eye for change.
