Iwona Rafalski

Since graduating with a Diploma in Management and Leadership, I’ve continued my role as an Office Manager in the aged care sector, where I’ve worked for the past three years. Before this, I held roles in intake and HR, gaining a well-rounded understanding of the sector and developing key skills in communication, coordination, and staff support. Earlier in my career, I had the privilege of running my own businesses in both South Africa and Australia—experiences that taught me resilience, innovation, and practical problem-solving, and continue to shape my leadership approach today. These combined experiences have strengthened my ability to lead with empathy and make a meaningful impact in people’s lives.

I was born in Poland, lived in South Africa, and now proudly call Australia home. My journey across these three culturally rich countries has given me a deep appreciation for diversity, adaptability, and building meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. Before deciding to study at CQUniversity, I was working in the aged care sector, where I recognised the importance of strong leadership and effective management. This inspired me to pursue formal qualifications to enhance my skills and make a greater impact in my role. I chose CQUniversity because of its strong reputation, flexible learning options, and its focus on practical, real-world skills that align with my career goals. 

As an Office Manager, I oversee the daily operations of the office, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. I manage administrative tasks, support staff, coordinate schedules, and handle budgeting and supplier relationships. My role also involves maintaining a productive work environment and ensuring effective communication across the team.
