Before I decided to study with CQUniversity, I worked the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry as a call-centre agent for eBay UK, based in the Philippines. When I moved to Australia, my first job, which I had for three years, was as a kitchen hand and cook, despite having no prior experience in hospitality. Eventually, I felt the calling to shift into a career that truly resonated with my passion—helping vulnerable and older people.
My deep desire to support and care for others motivated me to study Aged Care, as I believe in making a difference through genuine compassion and quality care. Seeing people smile and knowing I have contributed to their well-being means the world to me.
As a support worker, my role is centered on providing high-quality care and ensuring that clients receive the support they need to achieve their documented goals. I adhere to company policies and guidelines while maintaining a strong duty of care in all aspects of my work. My responsibilities include assisting clients with personal care and well-being, supporting their daily living skills, and encouraging community engagement and social participation in accordance with their individualized support plans. I am committed to fostering a safe and positive environment, ensuring that clients feel comfortable and empowered in their day-to-day lives. Additionally, I prioritize professional development and collaboration, working closely with colleagues and other professionals to continuously enhance the quality of care provided.
I aspire to pursue a Diploma in Nursing, as I want to continue providing the highest level of care to those who need it most.
