Completion of the Diploma of Project Management has assisted me in my role as a small-business owner of accommodation businesses, specifically motels. As a small business owner, you need to manage many different areas of the business, including operations, HR, finances, strategic planning, health & safety. The knowledge that I gained throughout this course allowed me to directly apply these skills to my business.

Before deciding to study with CQUniversity, I was managing a motel business with my partner. I identified that project management skills would improve my ability to manage the varied requirements of the business as well as help me with problem-solving and organisation within the business. I selected CQUniversity for this course as it provided the flexibility of online, self-paced learning that was required, whilst I continued to operate a business.

We have since purchased a new motel business in February 2026 and are looking forward to using the skills I gained from my Project Management course to assist in managing the upgrades and improvements that we are planning for this business.
