After graduating from CQUniversity I embarked on my professional journey at Specsavers Pty, where I have built a rewarding and progressive career spanning 18 years. Starting as a Desktop Support Analyst, I honed my skills in troubleshooting and end-user support, laying a strong foundation in IT operations. Eager to expand my technical expertise, I transitioned into the role of a Network Engineer, where I managed and optimised network infrastructures, ensuring seamless connectivity across the organisation. This role allowed me to delve into the complexities of network protocols, security, and performance tuning. 

My continuous learning and contributions paved the way for my promotion to Senior Systems Engineer, where I took on more advanced responsibilities, including system design, implementation, and maintaining mission-critical infrastructure. This role sharpened my ability to manage complex projects and deliver robust solutions. Building on my technical acumen and project leadership, I advanced to the role of Designer, focusing on creating innovative IT solutions tailored to the organization's evolving needs. This position allowed me to merge technical knowledge with strategic planning, crafting systems that aligned with business goals. Today, as a Lead Solutions Architect for Network and Infrastructure, I oversee the design and delivery of enterprise-wide IT solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. My role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring budding professionals, and driving digital transformation initiatives that keep Specsavers at the forefront of innovation.

My Masters degree from CQUniversity has been instrumental in shaping my career and helping me achieve professional success. It provided me with a strong technical foundation, hands-on experience through a focus on practical learning and helped improve my problem-solving and analytical skills. The degree instilled a passion for continuous learning, a necessity in the ever-evolving field of IT. This mindset has driven me to keep upgrading my skills and stay ahead of industry trends, enabling me to take on leadership roles like my current one. In summary, my degree has been the cornerstone of my career. It provided the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the challenges of the IT industry and grow into a Lead Solutions Architect.
