Leesa Jeffcoat

Leesa Jeffcoat served as Diocesan Director of Catholic Education (Diocese of Rockhampton) from 2001 until her retirement in July 2024. In her 23-year tenure, she prioritised student safety and implemented rigorous Student Protection Policies, alongside regular staff training to maintain a secure learning environment. Leesa’s leadership saw the introduction of kindergartens, the opening of five new Catholic primary schools, a secondary college, and extensive infrastructure upgrades across the Diocese. She also promoted educational opportunities in rural and regional areas, focusing on excellence in teaching and learning. In addition to her role in Catholic Education, Leesa chaired the Queensland Studies Authority from 2013-2014 and held a position on the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority Board, contributing to education policy at a state level. She also served as a Director on the Board of CEnet, which provides IT services for dioceses nationwide, and oversaw a governance review of Cenet.
