Niresha (Mayuree) Weerasekera
I was a qualified HR professional with experience in my home country of in Sri Lanka and in Qatar. Since I already had a HR degree I wanted to learn more about the requirements for business. My brother was studying at CQU and I decided to enrol as well.
During my study I was working part-time as an Administration Officer at KAL Training for one year, and then I started my 10 weeks internship with Training Ahead Australia (TAA). They offered me a full-time job and I have been working with them since then.
TAA provides rail industry training in Victoria. I am responsible for Safe Work courses, and I manage the process from enrolment to issuing certificates. This includes compliance with all the regulatory bodies, handling customer queries and uploading certificates for rail worker cards, and reporting.Â
I have been able to develop my skills and confidence in myself which made me to perform well in the organisation.
