A panel of experts has helped future-proof the Sunshine Coast community, with CQUniversity Noosa event Change from Any Chair.
The event, featuring social innovation leaders and disruption managers with global experience, was on Wednesday 16 October, and attracted an enthusiastic crowd of participants from non profits, education, and local councils.
CQUni Noosa Associate Vice-Chancellor and one of the key presenters, Associate Professor Teressa Schmidt said attendees discussed new ways to solve old problems, and how to lead and manage in our transforming world.
A/Prof Schmidt led the conversation, alongside marketing guru Mark Stanley, CQUni social enterprise expert Steve Williams, and Michael Doneman, Innovator in Residence with aged and community care organisation Comlink Limited.
“Throughout all industry sectors, significant disruption is either already occurring or on the way,” A/Prof Schmidt said.
“Technological advancements, changing funding models, changing customer/client expectations and increasingly competitive markets require new ways of thinking and working.”
Steve Williams, who is the co-founder of Queensland Social Enterprise Council, facilitated a session on social innovation and design said it was especially exciting to hear about Comlink Limited’s plans for the Sunshine Coast Vitality Village, a game-changer in health and community innovation.
Presented by the CQU Noosa Institute, and supported by CQUni’s Office of Social Innovation, the educational event was interactive and hands-on, equipping participants to lead, manage and embrace disruptive innovation and change.
Next month, the Office of Social Innovation will host global sustainable business expert Prof Jay Friedlander, for the east-coast Sustainable Futures: Real Strategies for People, Planet, Profit tour.
