CQUniversity has partnered with Orange Sky Australia as a sponsor of the Townsville Hybrid Vehicle.

CQUniversity has partnered with Orange Sky Australia (OSA) as a sponsor of the Townsville Hybrid Vehicle that will be officially launched in North Queensland next week (February 28).

OSA provides a free mobile laundry and shower service to people experiencing homelessness and the new Townsville vehicle comes at an important time when the community needs it most.

CQUniversity Director of Social Innovation Lara Carton said the partnership means CQUni staff and students in Townsville will not only have opportunities to participate as volunteers of the van, but the partnership will also mean significant branding for the uni on a product that beautifully aligns with its social innovation agenda.

"In addition to a number of other deliverables, CQUni will also have the opportunity to host co-founders Nic and Lucas at a speaking event which we hope to steam across our campus footprint, allowing our entire cohort of staff and students the opportunity to listen to these amazing entrepreneurs," Ms Carton said.

"CQUniversity is strongly committed to Social Innovation and puts great focus on building on our long-term strategy of engagement and ‘giving back’. We continue to be a leader within the social innovation space by not only being Australia’s only Ashoka U-accredited Changemaker Campus, but also by offering a number of Social Innovation opportunities to our staff and students. This partnership is an extension to that commitment.

"This is a significant collaboration for Social Innovation and one I look forward to blossoming and growing across our footprint in years to come."
