This 4-day intensive Textile Technology Residential School will inspire and (re)invigorate your passion for textiles through fun and engaging hands-on learning experiences where the latest developments in textile technology are explored. This Residential School experience provides an uplifting and contemporary perspective of home economics and textiles education. Regardless of your textiles experience, your daily activities can be negotiated to either “teach you the basics” or extend you to mastery. As a micro-credential, this course gives you a certificate of completion and a digital badge to display in your profile or share on social media.

This Residential School experience provides an uplifting and contemporary perspective of home economics and textiles education. Regardless of your textiles experience, your daily activities can be negotiated to either “teach you the basics” or extend you to mastery.

This is a non-creditable micro-credential which is awarded a digital badge and Certificate of Completion which can be shared to your social networks and displayed in your professional portfolio.

The fee for this workshop is $600.

Standard Micro-credential Structure

Duration:

The Residential School will be held from Tuesday 6 July to Friday 9 July 2021, all days inclusive. The workshop is held during the Education Queensland school holidays.

1. Design and create textile products

2. Apply theories of textile technology

3. Experiment with textile technologies

4. Apply relevant textile facility maintenance processes and procedures

5. Adhere to appropriate Workplace Health and Safety considerations when engaging in textile technology production.

7. You will receive a workbook prior to this Residential School that will outline tasks and resources (fabrics, embellishments, fasteners, pattern, etc.) that need to be sourced prior to attendance.


Assessment

This workshop is available to existing teachers in industry.

Teachers undertaking this course as Professional Development wishing to gain a Certificate of Attendance, need to attend all days of the Residential School and participate in all assessment activities.

Undertaking this micro-credential enables students to meet their Continuing Professional Development obligations and industry update requirements in their profession. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, a non-creditable micro-credential (Digital Badge) and a Certificate of Completion.
