Course Summary

You will cover the daunting issue of talking to client about dying and their death.  You will be provided with useful communication skills and information to start and engage in an end of life conversation.  It is these conversations that many health care professionals find uncomfortable and often difficult to broach.  As health professionals, you are often on the front line and these communication skills are vital for client centred care.

Learning outcomes for this course:

  • Describe steps on how to commence an end of life conversation
  • Identify the preparation requirements for an end of life discussion
  • Ascertain effective communication skills for an end of life discussion.
