“Over the last five years, I have seen a shift in student engagement. It can often be hard to have them connect with the content, so I was looking for a way to incorporate excitement and engagement – real dynamic learning back to the classroom.”

“I stumbled upon brain-based education and it was just so interesting – I was hooked. Brain-based education is looking how the physical structure of the brain plays a part in teaching, learning, engagement and memory.”

“I’ve enjoyed how practical the course was, that I could just put it into action and see immediate results. The lecturers always responded and would even call or text because they knew how busy you were. I absolutely say, ‘go for it’.”

“I left school when I was 15 and joined the Army, but I always knew there was something more I wanted to do. At the moment I’m focused on creative writing; I have three books published. One’s an Australian myth and the other two are fantasy quest-style books. It wasn’t until I did my Masters study at CQUniversity that I actually finished the novel.”

“CQUni had that friendly feel to it and was local. It’s a fairly autonomous course, but my two lecturers were both there when I needed to check in and touch base. The creative writing content helped me to write differently.”

“The qualification has helped me to hone my craft and explore new avenues.”
