Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Is what I already know taken into account?

Yes. Your history of study, skills and experience does matter. Consideration is given to your prior life and work experiences as well as formal and informal training. This may be applied using the national standard for Mutual Recognition or through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Documentary evidence will be requested.

Availabilities

Online

This course is available online with teaching support available through Zoom meetings, email and telephone. Online students require self-motivation and must have at least 10 hours part-time or 20 hours full-time available per week for study. Optional tutorial sessions will be held weekly at the following locations: 

CQUniversity Mackay 

Weekly on Tuesdays from 1 pm - 3 pm.

CQUniversity Gladstone City 

Weekly on Tuesdays from 4 pm - 6 pm.

CQUniversity Rockhampton City

Weekly on Monday and Wednesday from 8.30am to 12.30pm at Building B, Room 2.32.  Students can only attend once per week.

Timing

There are twelve course intakes for 2018, available monthly from January to December.

On-campus

This course is available to study on-campus at the following locations: 

CQUniversity Biloela 
Weekly classes will be held on Mondays from 9 am – 11 am or Tuesdays from 10 am – 12 noon. 

CQUniversity Gladstone City
Weekly classes will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8.30 am – 12.30 pm at Building D Room 3.14. Students can enrol in either day. They must discuss with the teacher the possibility of attending both days each week. There will be no classes on 13 and 14 February 2018. 

CQUniversity Rockhampton City
Classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday from 8.30am to 12.30pm at Building B, Room 2.32.  Students can enrol in either day and can only attend once per week.  

CQUniversity Yeppoon
Weekly classes will be held on Tuesdays from 8.30 am - 12.30 pm.

Students require self-motivation and must have at least 10 hours part-time or 20 hours full-time available per week for study.

There are ten course intakes for 2018, available monthly from February to November.

Full course cost: $2616.00

Subsidised course cost: $924.00

The Queensland Government determines the schedule set by CQUniversity. Additional fees may be charged for printed materials, protective clothing and tools etc. A full copy of all regulations associated with VET fees can be accessed from the Queensland Government Legislation website.

All fees must be paid to finalise enrolment or a payment arrangement entered into. You will be liable for all payments, even if you discontinue enrolment, subject to the Refund Policy. Debt recovery action will be taken to recover outstanding fees. Please select from the following:

  • VET Student Loans
    VET Student Loans will commence from 1 January 2017 and is an interest free Australian Government income contingency loan that assists eligible full fee paying students to pay their Tuition Fees.
  • VET Government funded programs
    The cost of these programs is based on a student contribution fee. A concession may be available in some situations. Additional resource/material costs will vary from program to program.
  • VET fee-for-service programs (full fee paying)
    These are competitively priced full-fee paying programs which do not attract concessions.
