In this self-paced, online micro-credential you will be introduced to the techniques used to create successful lino or woodblock reduction prints. Visual Art: Introduction to Linocut and Woodblock Techniques offers step-by-step instruction to support your creation of successful reduction prints using a lino or woodblock matrix.
Printmaking materials are not supplied.
Required materials to complete this micro credential:
1 X block printing ink – Yellow (water-based or oil-based) (Derivan Block Ink Tube Set recommended)
1 X block printing ink – Crimson
1 X Derivan block printing ink – Pthalo Blue.
1 X Derivan block printing ink – White.
1 X Derivan block printing ink – Black.
Or
2 X Derivan block printing medium - extender, 250 ml, if you already have artist's or student acrylic paint colours.
2 X lino tile (30 cm X 30 cm, Silkcut lino recommended)
20 x 110 gsm, acid-free cartridge paper.
1 X Awagami Hosho paper (optional)
1 X Speedball 4" Soft Roller 1" diameter.
1 X Baren - Bamboo, Large, 4’’ diameter (or similar).
1 X 3- 5 Piece Lino Cutting Set.
1 X pencil.
1 X plastic eraser, sketch pad or sketch paper.
1 X sheet of carbon paper.
1 x bar of Solvo soap.
1 x small box disposable rubber gloves.
1 x apron.
Soft cotton rags.
1 x Bench hook or rubber, non-slip mat. (optional)
