Research higher degrees

Research higher degrees

CQUniversity Australia offers a range of Research Higher Degree programs to meet your needs.

Unlike coursework study, a Research Higher Degree typically does not follow a structure of lectures, tutorials, assessment items and examinations. A research higher degree is a program of supervised research and study leading to the preparation and submission of a thesis.

An application for Admission to a Research Higher Degree at CQUniversity may be submitted at any time throughout the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I apply?

Research Higher Degree applications may be submitted at any time of the year. The commencement date for candidature will be negotiated between the candidate and the University, and may be reliant on resources or supervisor availability.

What happens when I make my application?

The Research Higher Degree online application process begins with an Expression of Interest which asks you to select your course, campus/study mode and provide a brief description of your proposed research topic.

Following receipt of your EOI your application will be assessed for availability of supervision.  A proposed supervisor may contact you via email to discuss your proposed topic, assist you to develop a research proposal, and  determine availability of resources and alignment with the University’s research priority areas.

You may then be invited to submit a full application for admission.  The University reserves the right to refuse admission to any applicant
