Higher Education Relief Package Short Courses
If you are considering your options and looking for opportunities to boost your skills and employability then you may benefit from the several free or subsidised vocational skill sets, short courses and heavily subsidised postgraduate offerings at CQUniversity.
We have a range of short courses and certificates available for new students under the Federal and State Government funding initiatives aimed at supporting Australians who have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
SUBSIDISED HIGHER EDUCATION CERTIFICATES
As part of the Federal and State Government funding initiatives, you may be eligible to study a heavily subsidised graduate certificate in information systems and technology, and mental health nursing at CQUniversity. These graduate certificates consist of four units, that can be studied online and provide you with the opportunity to boost your skills and employability.
For eligible students, the course fees have been set at a heavily subsidised rate that only applies from May to December 2020, and you will still be able to defer payment through HECS-Help. View the discounted rates below.

Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing
Graduate Certificate in Information Systems
Graduate Certificate in Information Technology
Under this initiative, you will still be able to defer payment through HECS-Help.
* These discounted rates only apply from May to December 2020.
To be eligible for the subsidised rate, you must be a commencing student, enrolled in a Commonwealth Supported Place within one of the above courses.
The discounted course fee only applies from May and December 2020, so you must enrol full-time to complete the Graduate Certificate within this period.
You must also meet the course entry requirements to be eligible for entry to the course.
Skill sets give you the opportunity to add to your current knowledge, learn up-to-date techniques or reskill in a new industry area, without having to do a full qualification.
INFECTION CONTROL ONLINE SKILL SET
These skill sets have been developed to enable infection control training across the retail, food and beverage and transport and logistics sectors. These nationally accredited online courses include:
- HLTSS00065 Infection control Skill Set (Retail)
- HLTSS00066 Infection control Skill Set (Food Handling)
- HLTSS00067 Infection control Skill Set (Transport and Logistics)

FREE ONLINE SKILL SETS
If you have been impacted by COVID-19 then you may be eligible to study a free online skill set, eligibility criteria applies. Free skill sets are available to job seekers or workers impacted by COVID-19. This program is funded by the Queensland Government.
