Masters by Research Elevate Scholarship - CQUniversity and CentacareCQ Partnership
We often hear that a large proportion of the Australian ageing population state a preference to remain living in their own home for as long as possible, including the preference to die at home. The implementation of consumer-directed service provision has made this preference appear more feasible. However, as a provider of home care services, CentacareCQ has limited information about: consumer perception of what “care at home until I die” looks like, how consumers and their families/carers choose which service types will assist them, and what attributes they are looking for from service providers. To adequately map service need, and to ensure workforce supply going forward, CentacareCQ needs to better understand what drives decision making for consumers of aged care in-home services.
