Destination Australia Scholarship (Graduate Certificate in Research)

Destination Australia is an Australian Government funded scholarship program designed to support a domestic or international student to study in regional Australia. The Destination Australia Scholarship (Graduate Certificate in Research) is open to new full-time students commencing in a Graduate Certificate in Research (GCR) degree at CQUniversity Mackay, Rockhampton Gladstone or Bundaberg campus. Scholarship Value: $15,000 per year of study

To be eligible for a Destination Australia Scholarship (Graduate Certificate in Research) an applicant must:

  • be a new full-time internal domestic or international Graduate Certificate in Research applicant
  • be commencing in a Graduate Certificate in Research at CQUniversity Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone or Bundaberg Campus.

To be considered for the Destination Australia Scholarship (Graduate Certificate in Research), please provide a written submission (in 500 words or less) with your application for admission addressing the following:
  • Career goals and how the scholarship will assist you in achieving your educational objectives
  • Extracurricular activities - especially community and volunteering activities and demonstration of leadership
  • Life experiences

In addition to the eligibility criteria, successful applicants must maintain residence and internal enrolment at the regional campus included on their offer for admission for the duration of their degree.

Applications must include all necessary supporting documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will need to supply the following supporting documentation:
  • Completed Application for Admission (GCR) submission
  • Evidence of academic achievements or unofficial transcript
  • Study Statement (in 500 words or less)
  • Resume

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from CQUniversity will determine the successful applicant. A scholarship will only be offered where there is an applicant/s of sufficient merit. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel meets.
