Welcome to the assessment module to complete the set of micro-credentials for ‘Biology Essentials’. Biology is the study of life on Earth and all living organisms on the planet. The assessment tasks examine the topics covered in the Biology Essentials micro-credential set and evaluate your understanding of the theories and concepts related to cell theory, organ systems, genetics, taxonomy, and ecology. On successful completion of the assessment tasks, this course gives you a certificate of completion.

Students who successfully complete the set of 6 micro-credentials* developed from the unit BIOL40108, Introductory Biology, (which forms part of the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03), may be eligible for credit transfer, pending all other entry requirements to the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 are being met, as automatic entry will not apply.

- Locate relevant research on a topic to then prepare an essay following academic writing conventions for scientific essays
- Write short notes to demonstrate your understanding of the meaning of key terms, concepts and processes in biology.

This module is only applicable for students seeking a credit transfer for the unit BIOL40108, Introductory Biology, in the Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) CL03 at CQUniversity.
This module contains the assessment items required for completion of the suite of 6 *micro-credentials.
Students can only gain access to this module upon completion of courses 1 - 5 of the micro-credential suite.
