Sarina and District Community Financial Services Limited (S&DCFSL) operates Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank and is proud to invest in our community through the Community Engagement Program. Our overarching aim of this community investment is to influence positive change and develop community capacity. The Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank Vocational Education and Training (Apprenticeship) Scholarship is a part of this community investment with the aim of encouraging education and development of skills and professional expertise through undertaking an Apprenticeship and more broadly to ultimately benefit the community.
The Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank Vocational Education and Training (Apprenticeship) Scholarship aims to encourage the local community to study, live and work locally, by providing financial support and encouragement to take up a vocation.
You have to be a full-time apprentice engaged with an employer. School based apprentices are not eligible to apply.
This scholarship will support students within the Sarina / Mackay district undertaking Apprenticeship training through CQUniversity. The student should be taking up an Apprenticeship in 2026 (or end of 2025) – be in first year or the equivalent of first year in the fields outlined in the eligibility criteria.
To be eligible to receive the Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank Vocational Education and Training (Apprenticeship) Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank will be formed to determine the successful applicant. The selection process may involve an interview (either face-to-face or online).
Scholarships at CQUniversity are highly competitive. All applications are ranked based on how well applicants address the selection criteria, and in comparison, to other applicants. Being eligible or being a recipient in the past is no guarantee of having a successful application. A scholarship will only be offered where there is an applicant of sufficient merit.
Please ensure you read all the Guidelines and submit your application accordingly, which must be via the electronic link provided to you.
Payments will be made directly by the donor to the successful applicant’s nominated Community Bank Sarina Bendigo Bank account.
If you complete your Apprenticeship in 3 years, the scholarship funds that apply to Year 4 will be paid upon your successful completion of your Apprenticeship.
As a scholarship recipient, you may be asked to participate in a feedback survey. You may also be approached to assist with promoting CQUniversity’s Scholarships program by sharing your experiences as a recipient through testimonials, media or invitations to attend events such as Orientation or Open Days. If you do not wish to be publicly recognised or be involved in the above initiatives, please advise the Philanthropy team via ourpartners@cqu.edu.au immediately following acceptance.
CQUniversity has a range of support services located on our website Student Support Services and Financial Preparedness.
