Accept
Once your application to study at CQUniversity is successful, you and your agent (if you applied through one) will receive an Offer of Admission via email.
To accept your offer, please log in to the iStart to start the process or let your agent know in writing that you'd like to accept.
Accepting your offer is an important milestone, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Full offer
You have met all requirements. With a full offer, you can begin the process of accepting your offer.
Conditional offer
If you received a conditional offer, you must meet the condition/s stated in your offer. Conditions may include proof of academic and English proficiency requirements e.g. certified copies of academic transcripts or IELTS test results. You must provide all supporting documents.
Some students may be requested to provide additional documents to show that they have the financial capacity to support themselves while in Australia and that they are genuine students before their acceptance is finalised.
Packaged offer
A packaged offer is a combination of offers that requires you to complete the English course or another preliminary course before commencing your main course. You must accept the entire package stated in the Offer of Admission.
Examples of a packaged offer:
- English language → diploma → bachelor
- English language → postgraduate course
Unsuccessful application
If you are not successful in gaining admission to your first course preference, we will assess your application for the next listed preference or suggest a suitable pathway course.
If your application is unsuccessful, you will receive an email notification explaining that the entry and screening requirements have not been met.
To accept your Letter of Offer, please follow the steps outlined below:
1. Start the process
If you applied through an education agent, let them know in writing that you’d like to accept your offer. If you applied directly, log in to iStart to begin the process.
2. Review your Letter of Offer
Make sure your course, campus and start date are correct. If you need to defer your offer, you must contact the International Admissions Team at international-admissions@cqu.edu.au. If you wish to change course, you will need to submit a new application.
3. Meet any conditions
You may need to provide certified documents to meet academic or English language requirements. You may also need to attend a Genuine Student interview or show proof of financial capacity.
4. Read and accept your student agreement
Make sure you understand the student declaration and agreement. Sign it or click ‘Accept’ within iStart. Please also review the refund summary.
5. Make your payment
Pay your deposit, including Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). BUPA is CQUniversity’s preferred provider of OSHC. Students are encouraged to download the myBupa app to manage their OSHC account.
If you wish to use a different provider, please upload proof of cover. Only pay once you’ve met all conditions and the above steps have been completed.
Everyone can pay securely via Flywire global payment portal. the receipt will be automatically sent to CQUniversity for processing.
If you are in Australia, you’ll also have these additional payment options.
- Visit your CQUniversity campus to pay via credit card. Afterwards, please scan and email your receipt to the International Admissions Team at international-admissions@cqu.edu.au so it can be processed.
- Use the BPAY payment portal to pay via an Australian bank account. Your receipt will also be automatically sent to the University once payment is complete.
6. Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Once your acceptance and payment are processed, CQUniversity will issue your CoE if you require a student visa.
If you're starting your studies in Australia, you'll likely need a student visa unless you hold a different type of visa. Our admissions team will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) if necessary. This document is crucial for your student visa application.
Applying for your student visa
A CoE is required for your student visa application to study and live in Australia legally. Follow the instructions on how to apply for a student visa from the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.
