18 May 2021

CQUniversity's Master of Business Administration is a proven world leader' with the latest CEO Magazine MBA rankings again putting it in Tier One globally.

And the highly regarded course is also driving global connections' as CQUniversity delivers the MBA at its new Jakarta campus' with local partner Universitas Bakrie.

CQUniversity MBA Director and Associate Professor Michael Segon said the 2021 expansion creates opportunities for students in Australia and Indonesia to work collaboratively.

"Many universities trumpet an MBA that has a global focus' but CQUniversity is actually delivering internationally' and we will give students in both countries a chance to work on projects across international borders'" A/Prof Segon explained.

"Due to COVID' that prospect is only virtually for now' but we look forward to connecting our MBA students through study tours and face-to-face group projects in future."

A/Prof Segon said the small Jakarta-based student cohort was an impressive group of practicing business managers' with considerable work and life experience.

"Our students in both Indonesia and Australia are looking to grow global careers' and CQUniversity's MBA is enabling that to happen'" he said.

"Australia's major trading partners are now in our region' and Indonesia is an emerging economy in that space'

"This MBA builds on a long-standing and strong relationship between both countries."

On Friday 14 May' CEO Magazine announced its annual Global MBA Rankings' with CQUniversity retaining Tier One rank overall' and earning a top 50 spot at 41 in the Global Online MBA Rankings.

Entirely geared and weighted to fact-based criteria' the CEO Magazine rankings "aim to cut through the noise and provide prospective students with a performance benchmark". The magazine has released its annual Global MBA rankings each year since 2012' with 338 programs in this year's list.

CQUniversity's flexible MBA is available at campuses in Melbourne' Sydney and Brisbane in face-to-face' mixed and online modes.

And wherever the student is' A/Prof Segon says the course emphasises interaction and connection for students.

"Managers need to interact with their teams' and with their stakeholders' both face-to-face and increasingly in virtual settings'" he said. "Employers are telling us that the ability to interact and demonstrate 21st Century skills is paramount- and we have design the core of this MBA to deliver those key aspects- including emotional intelligence' decision making' leadership and integrity"

"Our mixed-mode MBA ensures that students are getting that vital experience through their studies' and how they work with their student peers."

The AFR BOSS MBA rankings puts CQUniversity in the top 10 across all Australian MBA courses' and lists it as the most affordable amongst those leaders.

"Industry standards continuously recognise CQUniversity's MBA as a top-quality offering' in Australia and internationally'" A/Prof Segon said.

"The content is also continuously being reviewed for currency' because if an MBA isn't changing' it's not reflecting reality."
