CQU partners with Pedal Prix Super Series

CQUniversity has partnered with the Queensland Pedal Prix Super Series that kicked-off in Bundaberg last month.

More than 500 students from 22 different schools across Queensland competed in the Bundy 300 season opener that was held at the Bundaberg Kart Club on Saturday' 22 May.

CQUniversity Associate Vice-President of the Gladstone and Wide Bay Regions Luke Sinclair said the uni was proud to sponsor the Series.

"CQUniversity has supported the Pedal Prix Series for a number of years now and this year we were excited to step up our support to become naming right sponsor of the 2021 Queensland Pedal Prix Super Series'"

Mr Sinclair said.

The 2021 CQU Qld Pedal Prix Super Series (previously known as the Human Powered Vehicles Super Series) is a seven-race event' hosted at a number of locations across Queensland.

The series is for single seat' school-entered' racing Human Powered Vehicles' which must comply with the Queensland Pedal Prix Specifications. There are four short sprint courses and three endurances courses in the series.

"Pedal Prix is a great sport that attracts so many students who would not otherwise get actively involved in something'"

Mr Sinclair said.

"It is fantastic to partner with an organisation that is not just about the competition' but the science that goes behind the bike-building and design."

Bundaberg State High School 'Hornets' took out race one' completing 288 laps in their winning vehicle VENOM.
