When Jakarta-based Muhammed Iqbal Fajri commenced his postgraduate studies with Universitas Bakrie and CQUniversity' he thought the qualifications would help him to further build his skills in business management but now he is looking at the bigger picture and hoping to establish a start-up to create economic benefit within is home village (Aceh).
Iqbal has worked across a number of industries and business roles including public relations' digital marketing and sales' and is currently working as a Marketing Executive at CIMB Niaga Indonesia.
Iqbal also has a business' Pecel Ayam Go' Indonesian authentic fried chicken' and it's in this business that he says he has really drawn on the skills developed as part of his Master of Management and Master of Business Administration (MBA) studies.
"Even though I also use MM-MBA knowledge in CIMB Niaga' especially for managing and leading the organisation along with operations management and business analytics' the studies have helped me in driving Pecel Ayam to go forward by applying best practice communication and entrepreneurial approaches to business management'"
"The course has allowed me to expand my knowledge and grow my business networks.
"It has also inspired me to think about the macro difference I can make to the local economy within my region' and I am currently exploring start-up opportunities in delivery and courier service operations and within the food and beverage industry".
Iqbal is also keen to use his experience and qualifications to teach others and would one day like to become a lecturer in business.
Iqbal said that his study experience so far has been very good' despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic.
"The pandemic has disrupted everything including study but we as humans must adapt to everything happening in the environment.
"The support from CQUniversity during this time has been very helpful and even though CQUniversity is based in Australia' their local staff in Indonesia have provided strong support to students during the pandemic.
"Knowing that CQUniversity values student support is one of the reasons I chose to study the course.
"The Master or Management is delivered through Universitas Bakrie with the MBA through CQUniversity.
"The partnership is very collaborative and it is great to be able to attend an Australian university and get an Australian study experience while still in Indonesia.
"The teaching and resources provided to students are of a very high standard and represent good value for money'"
Iqbal is due to complete his studies by early 2022 and will graduate with a dual Master of Management and MBA.
CQUniversity opened the Jakarta Business Training Centre at the start of 2020 and delivers corporate training programs focusing on business' law' governance' and business ethics' as well as English language (ELICOS).
CQUniversity also partners with Bakrie University to deliver a Master of Management and MBA program.
Under the partnership' Bakrie University teaches the first four semester subjects with CQUniversity delivering the remainder. All students must pass Australian-standard entry requirements' including English language proficiency.
