Hundreds of Year 12 students experience uni life across regional Queensland
More than 840 Year 12 students from 60 schools across six Queensland regions participated in CQUniversity's annual University Experience events recently.
Held in Mackay' Gladstone' Cairns' Bundaberg' Townsville and Rockhampton' Uni Experience is a free' one day on-campus event that allows Year 12 students to explore their post-high school study options' including both higher education degrees and TAFE courses.
Uni Experience coordinator Karlie Williams said hundreds of students converged across CQUniversity's regional Queensland campus footprint to participate in this year's event.
"This year we had strong attendance at every Uni Experience event and the students expressed real interest in coming to CQU next year'" Mrs Williams said.
Each student received a personalised timetable to help them navigate uni – just like a current student.
"They attended classes with expert teaching staff and academics' got a sneak peek into the social aspects of university life and really immersed themselves in the activities."
