CQU's student satisfaction credentials backed by Canstar Blue

CQUniversity has been recognised as having Queensland's most satisfied uni students by Australian comparison website Canstar Blue.

CQUniversity was compared against the University of Queensland' Griffith University and QUT and was certified with a five-star rating for student satisfaction – the highest rating for this category.

The rating was awarded following independent market research conducted by Canstar Blue among Queensland university students who had attended a university in the last 10 years.

Those who participated were asked to rate their university on the basis of teaching staff' social aspects' learning resources' quality of education and other key categories including amenities' support services and post-graduation prospects and outcomes.

CQU topped the Queensland universities review' rating best for overall student satisfaction and five stars in several other categories: quality of education' opportunities and prospects after graduation' learning resources' and teaching staff.

Canstar also noted on its website that CQU is a leading distance education provider' supporting more than 18'000 online or mixed-mode students with more than 200 flexible' mixed-mode study programs spanning dozens of disciplines including allied health' nursing' education' information technology (IT)' business' accounting' law and criminology' science' and agriculture.

CQUniversity's Vice-Chancellor and President' Professor Nick Klomp welcomed the news by saying it was yet another endorsement of CQU's credentials when it comes to student satisfaction and graduate outcomes.

"We will hold this rating exclusively in the Queensland market for at least the next 12 months and it is yet another endorsement of this University's unwavering commitment to delivering students with an exceptional learning experience that prepares them for work after graduation.

"CQUniversity has also performed equally as well in other rankings and ratings including the recent Student Experience Survey' The Good Universities Guide annual rankings and the QS Stars ratings.

"We have invested heavily in support and technology in recent years' and we will continue to do so as our vision is to provide out students with the most seamless and supported experience possible.

"We want the entire student journey from prospect to graduate' to be one that our students feel engaged and supported in'" said Professor Klomp.

The Vice-Chancellor also pointed out that CQUniversity's team of educators and experts were committed to excellence and student success.

"Our academic and teaching staff are truly remarkable.

"Not only are they innovative in their approach to learning and teaching but they are also very focused on ensuring students have a great experience.

"This was never more evident then when our whole university had to transform' basically overnight' at the start of the pandemic to deliver all courses online' including those that traditionally require face-to-face' on-campus delivery.

"Our staff rose to the challenge and supported our students through this disruption by creating supportive virtual learning environments' some great examples included sending clinical kits to health students to help them prepare for clinical pracs' developing opportunities for virtual international experiences when students weren't able to travel overseas' and delivering music and theatre performances to online audiences across Australia.

"The past couple of years have been tough for the higher education sector but our people have made the needs of students an ongoing priority and I think our students and alumni have recognised this."

In the last two months CQUniversity was also recognised as having the most satisfied students in the country as part of the Student Experience Survey with a ranking that sits 5.4 per cent higher than the national average for student satisfaction.

Along with this CQUniversity has maintained its number one position nationally for social equity in the 2023 Australian Good Universities Guide (GUG) ratings' including five stars for student aligned criteria including overall experience' teaching quality and skills development.
