Prospective students, eager apprentices and those looking for a career change had doors of opportunity opened throughout the month of August as CQUniversity held their annual Open Days across the state of Queensland.

Hundreds of attendees availed the opportunity to glean information from industry experts, knowledgeable lecturers and student support staff, provided with a glimpse into university life with hands-on experience in interactive lab tours and course information sessions, with many enrolling to commence studies in the next year.

CQUniversity Manager Future Students, Kylie Ciocca said that the Open Day events were a great opportunity to showcase the value that CQUniversity provides not only in skilling the future workforce, but also in injecting value to the community by providing accessible education and engaging with local stakeholders.

“We see registration numbers increase each year we open our doors at CQUniversity, which I think just goes to show not only the demand that is there for education in the regions, but also cements the fact that CQU is making university accessible and achievable for so many,” Ms Ciocca said.

“The pathways we have on offer through our TAFE courses for example also mean that students don’t necessarily always have to rely on an ATAR to get into university – and there are so many options available from hybrid classes to online where students are able to study around their schedules.”

CQUniversity holds Open Days annually in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, and Bundaberg, with various online options and course information sessions available throughout the year. Visit CQUniversity’s events page for more details.
