Festival of Change

Festival Overview

CQUniversity wants to change the world for the better – and through social innovation, our students, staff, academics, and communities are all driving the transformation.

The Festival of Change is a multi-campus event celebrating and bringing to life changemaking at CQUni. Festivities will feature CQUni students, staff, academics, alumni and stakeholders who are making a difference and promote opportunities for engagement, learning and collaboration.

The Festival of Change is on Monday 30 July until Friday 3 August 2018. Hosted by the Office of Social Innovation, the event starts with a free keynote presentation showcasing global and local social innovations and continues through the week with a series of online and campus-based activities designed to prompt creativity and empower students to actively pursue positive social change.

Melbourne Campus

Melbourne campus is excited to be a part of the Festival of Change. Living in a multicultural city which faces many societal issues but still manages to be the world’s most liveable city seven years in a row we can learn from the innovations and movements which have been cultivated in Melbourne. One strong focus for the campus is supporting social enterprise and we are excited to bring in some local organisations; Second bite, with whom the campus has a growing relationship and Fitted For Work as well as others. The aim for the festival at Melbourne is to deliver workshops and information sessions during lunch time and to also create a space where students can gather to discuss ideas and views around the change they would like to see and create. To facilitate and augment this discussion we will encourage students to borrow a laptop from our new LapSafe facility and complete the iChange program. Our festival will be completed with a Changemaker marketplace on Friday which hopes to bring together all the elements of the festival and motivate our students to carry their ideas and knowledge into their studies and future careers.
