The WorldSkills Australia Electrical Control Competition 2026 is designed to assess Competitors on their knowledge of practical and circuit design work, VSD set up, wiring installation, fault finding, PLC programming and how to complete an electrical wiring speed test. Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008 will need to be applied to all aspects of the competition. Jason De Roche will be hosting four events, register for your chosen event by visiting WorldSkills.

To be eligible to enter a WorldSkills competition, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship in an Australian RTO/TAFE/University
- Be undertaking studies towards a qualification at an Australian RTO/TAFE or University
- Undertaken/completed a relevant qualification at an Australian RTO/TAFE or University
There is no age criteria to enter the Regionals; however, to be eligible to proceed to the 2025 National Championships, the National Age Ruling will apply.
A competitor at the WorldSkills Australia National Championships should not be older than 24 years in the year of competition (For 2027 – Born on or after 1 Jan 2003). For more information on eligibility, visit WorldSkills.
